Valsugana
enjoys a magnificent natural environment, marked by an infinite
series of micro-environments, each with its own peculiarities
and which in its entirety is capable of offering a range of
sporting activities which few other locations can succeed in
matching.
The “lakeside” environment offers a stupendous setting for all
the sports and forms of entertainment which an expanse of water
can offer. Here you can enjoy yourself diving into the lake,
swimming, windsurfing, sailing or canoeing, try out the
excitement of water-skiing or enjoy the more relaxing pleasures
of capturing the many lake fish. For those who are looking for
pure adrenaline, around one hour’s drive away there is the
opportunity to practice sports such as rafting, canyoning,
bungee-jumping and other dynamic activities.
In the cooler hours of the day the surrounding area offers the
opportunity for jogging, playing tennis and exploring the many
paths, which start a short distance from the lake and make their
way through the chestnut, beech, and fir woods, perhaps seeking
to reach the peaks by mountain-bike, or heading towards the
numerous passes which surround the valley, some of which
periodically host the most demanding stages of the Giro
d’Italia. You can make your way up to Passo Manghen, descend to
the Val di Fiemme, or reach Vetriolo near the Panarotta
mountain, which in winter offers entertainment to many skiers,
meet the challenge of the Kaiserjagerweg, the historic access
and supply route for the Austro-Hungarian fortresses
which on the tablelands of Lavarone and Folgaria still testify
to the events
of the First World War, coming back down to Passo della Fricca,
to reach panoramic
points of incomparable beauty, where you can admire the full
splendour of the valley.
For those looking for a truly exciting experience it is possible
to experience hang-gliding or parachute jumping, accompanied by
an instructor, and thus to have a bird’s-eye view of the
spectacular landscape of the Valsugana from above. |
