The Valsugana
is situated in south-eastern Trentino, on the route which since
ancient times has linked Trento and the Adige valley to the
Veneto region, with its important cities, and to the Adriatic
Sea.
From the Punta Lago campsite you can thus organise day trips
which will allow you to visit magnificent natural surroundings,
crossing completely different environments, both in terms of
climate, setting and landscape. From the Dolomites to the
Lagorai mountains, Lake Garda and the Veneto plain, there are
innumerable itineraries, both for those who enjoy trekking on
foot or on horseback and for cycling and motorbike enthusiasts. |

Important
artistic cities such as Venice or Verona can be easily reached,
Verona also offering magnificent operatic performances in the
fabulous setting of the Roman Arena. Trento, the main city of
the region, was a small medieval city which became famous
throughout Europe in the 16th century thanks to the religious
Council. There are many important historic and artistic
artefacts which can still be seen in the ancient aristocratic
palaces, today home to important
bodies and institutions. |

There are also
numerous museums: among the most important are the Trento
Natural Science Museum, the Caproni Aviation Museum at
Mattarello airport, Buonconsiglio Castle and Palazzo delle
Albere, this last being closely linked to the recently opened
MART gallery in Rovereto. In Trento there is also considerable
evidence of the Roman era; a city underneath the city, which
illustrates the history and strategic importance of the ancient
city of Tridentum. The whole province is dotted with medieval
castles and religious buildings which are well worth visiting. |
